Avyaya Pandey is a highly experienced compliance professional with over 17 years of experience in the banking industry. Currently serving as the Director of Compliance at Standard Chartered Bank, Avyaya is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations and providing advisory support to the business. Avyaya has a proven track record of successfully implementing compliance frameworks and policies, as demonstrated during her tenure at First Abu Dhabi Bank and FGB. At First Abu Dhabi Bank, she was a member of the Integration team of Group Compliance, where she played a key role in harmonizing policies and procedures for the merged entity. She also liaised with various regulators both locally and internationally to provide regulatory compliance subject matter expertise and support to the Personal Banking team. At FGB, Avyaya prepared the framework of Compliance Monitoring Plan and worked as a Responsible Officer for FATCA compliance. Avyaya's expertise in compliance monitoring, risk assessment, and regulatory reporting has enabled her to provide assurance to senior management and mitigate risks effectively. She has also demonstrated her ability to identify the gaps between regulatory obligations and existing entries in the Country Obligation Register, reviewed the Risk Owner, Risk Theme, Gross Risk Score, Control Design and Effectiveness (CST) for each obligation, and provided assurance to senior management. Avyaya is proficient in integration and test technologies and possesses excellent communication and leadership skills. She has a deep understanding of regulatory requirements, including FATCA, CRS, Dodd Frank, and MiFID 2, and has kept up with changing and increasing regulatory requirements through horizon scanning.
